Saga Bookbinding

I am a Minnesota-based bookbinder, maker, and teacher. I design and hand bind books and create boxes and other paper-based objects, combining traditional bookbinding techniques with contemporary materials and approaches.

My work is grounded in an interest in how books are made and how their structures shape the way we use and experience them. I enjoy exploring the often-overlooked details of construction, from sewing and board attachment to materials and finishing, and finding new possibilities within familiar forms.

As a teacher, I share this approach through workshops that encourage students to understand not just how to make a book, but why it works. Whether I am making or teaching, I bring curiosity, beauty, and a sense of possibility to the functional.
